Back in 2017, as part of a multi-million pound project a state-of-the-art chicory
growing room and a larger and better-configured packing factory was built at DGM
Growers, providing the team with much improved office and training facilities.
As the only commercial grower of Chicory in the UK DGM Growers have been
growing chicory since 1983! Although the growing method has changed significantly
since due to new science, technological advances and developments, chicory still
has to be grown in complete darkness and these rooms accommodate for that.
As the only commercial growers of Chicory in the UK, they have perfected the
technique. DGM Growers recently featured on the Waitrose Farmers Instagram
channel, show casing their Chicory growing.
