Smart Farming

In 2022, we expanded our growing operations to our new Smart Farm, growing vertically farmed Salanova lettuce. Our greenhouse allows us to control the temperature, humidity and nutrient levels, leading to consistent quality and flavour.

Our lettuce is grown without soil, using nutrient-rich water solutions instead. This method allows for faster growth rates and yields compared to traditional soil-based farming, as plants can directly absorb nutrients. Our system uses significantly less water than conventional farming. We can use up to 90% less water because the water is recirculated and reused in the system, making it a more sustainable option.
